If i turn a leveler into an artifact can I then level it up using Grand Architect's ability

I made a deck recently that abuses the grand architect's abilities. I also made it a merfolk leveler deck, so my question is, can I turn a creature like Halimar Wavewatch into an artifact using Liquimetal Coating amd level it using Grand Architect 's final ability? My friends assume so, so that's how I've been playing it.

Don't see why not. It's blue, so you can tap it for mana, and it's an arifact, so that mana can be used to pay for it's activated abilities. Level up is a keyworded activated ability. Sure. Go nuts.
