If my opponent has a negative life total due to Abyssal Persecutor can he double his life total i.e. with a creature enchanted with Celestial Mantle?

ok...i have abyssal prossecutor and my opponent a creature with celestial mantle, so if he hits me he doubles his life total, but if i have the prossecutor and he cannot lose, then first, if he is in 0 life points and i keep attacking, he gets negative life points, and if it is so, what happens if he hits me with the celestial mantle, how can he double his life total if is a negative number?... i know, pretty complex question, but it just happened to me yesterday :D
These are the cards: abysall-prossecutor , Celestial Mantle
And here is the rule in question:
107.1b Most of the time, the Magic game uses only positive numbers and zero. You cant choose a negative number, deal negative damage, gain negative life, and so on. However, its possible for a game value, such as a creatures power, to be less than zero. If a calculation or comparison needs to use a negative value, it does so. If a calculation that would determine the result of an effect yields a negative number, zero is used instead, unless that effect sets a players life total to a specific value, doubles a players life total, sets a creatures power or toughness to a specific value, or otherwise modifies a creatures power or toughness.
In other words it would seem his negative life total does double.
So if he is at -10 he would then be at -20.

haha you can make card:Death's Shadow a god with negative life xD
squire1 says... #1
2 x (-1)= -2
2 x (-20)= -40
yes your life can go negative.
if it says double then f(x)=2x, where x is your current life total
