If Renegade Doppelganger copies an ally, does the newly gained enter the battlefield ability trigger?

Say I have a Renegade Doppelganger out. I play a Halimar Excavator and I copy the excavator with the doppelganger's ability. Does the Excavator's entering the battlefield also trigger the doppelganger's copied ability?

Alas, no. However, you can mill for one more than you would have otherwise.
Excavator enters the battlefield. Done. Now TWO triggered abilities go on the stack; one is for Doppelganger, saying "you may make this a copy of Excavator," and the other is for Excavator saying "Mill x, where x is the # of allies you control."
Since you control all these effects, you order them. Assuming there's no other weird plays on the board, you'd want to order them so that Doppelganger copies Excavator first, then Excavator mills. That way Doppelganger counts as an ally and you get to mill for one more.
However, you don't get to separately trigger a mill ability for Doppleganger because nothing has entered the battlefield since it copied Excavator. You'd have to cast another Ally to get the sweet double mill action.
