If you kick Desolation Giant does it destroy all of your opponents creatures or just all other creatures?

So This question has come up a couple times when playing with friends (so one of them as this card in their deck).

When Desolation Giant comes into play, without paying the kicker, all creatures that player controls are destroyed.

However, if you play Desolation Giant with the kicker paid, should it destroy just everyone else's creatures or all creatures including your own?

If it's the former, then this seems to be a bit of a broken card and really overpowered. If it's the latter, then it makes more sense since the controller wouldn't be the only one losing out on getting their stuff destroyed.

If the kicker is unpaid, Desolation Giant destroys all creatures it's controller owns. If the kick is paid, Desolation Giant destroys all creatures besides itself; this includes it's controller's creatures and the opponent's creatures.

Yes, it's actually really terrible without the kicker, unless you have some desperate need to lose all your own creatures for the sake of a 3/3 which has cost you 4 mana. Then again, Quest for the Gravelord or something similar would combo well off this.
