is this combo legal?

if i give [tainted strike] to [soliton] equipped with [heavy arbalest] and have five other [island] i can shoot the player until death? unless he removes the soliton ..
Tainted Strike will give Soliton infect, but you must use the ability from arbalest after this effect resolves.
Also The ooponent must have an instant response, to the tainted strike, thus killing soliton in response of receiving infect, as otherwise you can fuel the combo at instant time and kill him.
Something similar happened at a GP when a player used a Barrage Ogre to shoot the last 2 dmg to a player, the other responded with tainted strike (as the ogre should deal infect and thus not killing him), and the controlller of the ogre used Grasp of Darkness in response of tainted strike to kill his ogre so it deals normal damage.

Yup. That's perfectly legal, and even happened a few times at my prerelease. Feel free to ping away. Also, cards should be put in double square brackets to show what they are
