Karn, Silver Golem and Aggravated Assault viability

Asked by emblasochist 13 years ago

Does Karn, Silver Golem get -4/+4 for the rest of the turn multiple times when he attacks or blocks multiple times that turn? For instance, supposing I have the mana to Aggravated Assault once, and Karn attacks in both attack phases, does he become 0/12? Or just 0/8?

I ask, because if you had the mana resources, you could put Bear Umbra on Karn, and with Doran, the Siege Tower make Karn a really nasty man. It isn't a competitive combo, admittedly, as it uses 4 colors of mana, requires 3RR to activate in land mana, and doesn't make Karn very big until the third or fourth iteration, assuming each attack phase causes him to get bigger. It would just make for an interesting combo.

The answer is Yes! Because of the text that says "whenever" and "until end of turn" on Karn, Silver Golem . If anything gives multiple attack phases, i.e. Aggravated Assault , he gets pumped again.

Just for fun, throw in a Bloodbraid Elf and tons of mana. Four card-combo...not likely, but if it goes off it sounds like a lot of fun. :)
