Kokusho, the Evening Star
Asked by ballard302 14 years ago
I've been trying to find rulings on Kokusho, the Evening Star to see if he was legal in EDH, but I've only been able to find that you can't use him as a commander. Can someone tell me if I can use him in my deck, but not as my general?

It depends on your play circle. EDH is a casual format, so it technically doesn't have a ban list. However, the official EDH website did create a ban list to assist play circles on what cards may make EDH games less fun. Click "Social" in this link to see the "ban list."

Kokusho, the Evening Star is on this list. So, if your play group bans cards based on this list, you can't use him.

Sadly although he is very good, on the official ban list Kokusho cannot be used as a general or in your deck in general IN TOURNAMENTS but if people dont mind you can use him in casual play

EDH has the same legality rules as vintage. He is legal in vintage and hence legal in EDH.
