How does pumping work for Nirkana Revenant and other shades?

Nirkana Revenant i guess this question applies to other creatures as well that has to also pay mana for an ability.
my question: since it says to pay one black mana give an extra 1/1 counter on her i get a 1/1 counter for paying the black mana obviously. my question is, can i do it multiple times? like tap 3 black mana for 3 1/1 counters? obviously it doesnt say play X amount, i was thinking the reason why it doesnt say x amount is because they want you to pay black mana only. i also dont see anything that says you cant pay more than once per turn. it just says 1 black mana = 1 1/1 counter.
if i was vague sorry :P if you choose to tap 3 black you get 6 black in your mana pool you can pump her 6 times

If you look at the wording on the card, anything before a : is a payment.
Anything After is the effect that goes onto the stack.
So Yes, you can use her ability as many times as you can generate black mana.
This Is because your creature doesn't tap to get the effect.

just a couple things to remember first you will only get the extra black mana if you are tapping swamps for mana and second nirkana revenant gets a temporary +1/+1 until end of turn for each time you activate the ability and not +1/+1 counters
but to answer your question yes you can activate the ability as many times as you as long as you have the mana to do so

The card itself is saying whenever you use a swamp you get a second black mana free, for whatever purpose you want. So say I Nirkana Revenant the turn before and I played a land this turn. I have seven swamps on the field, because of her first ability if I tap a swamp I get two black mana for the tap of one swamp.
Her second ability is to let her gain +1/+1 for one black mana until end of turn. Sadly, these are not +1/+1 counters. So If you attack with her and say your opponent shoots two Lightning Bolt s at you, then you can tap two swamps and trigger her ability four separate times and pump her up to an 8/8.
As a Player's Note, whenever an ability just shows a mana cost, it is a re-usable as you want it to be.

if you tap 3 black mana she gets +6/+6 until end turn because you get 6 black for tapping 3 lands you can play this multiple times per turn
