Thieving Amalgam and Wave Goodbye
Asked by Swebb87 9 months ago
If I have manifested say 2 cards from the top of all 3 of my opponents' library using Thieving Amalgam and someone casts Wave Goodbye do those cards I manifested go back into their owners' hands? Or do they go to graveyard? Or go to the battlefield if permanents and go to exile if non-permanent?
While the cards are being returned to their owner's hands, they are also revealed to all players, so each player will know not only the cards given back to them, but also to your other opponents.
708.9. If a face-down permanent or a face-down component of a merged permanent moves from the battlefield to any other zone, its owner must reveal it to all players as they move it. If a face-down spell moves from the stack to any zone other than the battlefield, its owner must reveal it to all players as they move it. If a player leaves the game, all face-down permanents, face-down components of merged permanents, and face-down spells owned by that player must be revealed to all players. At the end of each game, all face-down permanents, face-down components of merged permanents, and face-down spells must be revealed to all players.

Assuming that none of them have +1/+1 counters on them, they go back into their owners' hands. Wave Goodbye returns creatures to their owner's hands. The manifested cards are creatures. They will be returned to their owner's hands.
