What happens if I create a Kaldra token while another Kaldra token is on the battlefield?
Asked by Jorgied 14 years ago
with the helm of Kaldra I can pay one colorless to build Kaldra (If only the other parts of kaldra are out) say I swing with him and I still need a blocker could I pay the one Build another Kaldra would both be destroied by ledary rule or because of the shield on the new one you just made he would live because he would be indestruiable and if both die am I able to rubuild him again
So can I pay 1 mana make another one destroy both and then pay another 1 to make him again so hes untapped or do I just pay one and the one that attacked would be destoried and the one I just build lived?

Kaldra is legendary. If you were to get out two Kaldras, they are not "destroyed," they just both go to the graveyard because of the legend rule (and then they disappear because they are tokens sitting in the graveyard); remember, something is only destroyed if a card says to "destroy" it or if it takes lethal damage.
Thus: If we have one out already, you can still activate the Helm to build Kaldra 2. Kaldra 2 comes in, and Kaldra 1 and 2 die to the Legend rule. Then you can pay to put in Kaldra 3 and hook him up with his bling, and Kaldra 3 sticks.
So basically, yes, you can generate a new Kaldra to block if old Kaldra is tapped. It'll just cost you one more.

Any creatures (or other cards, like these) printed with the Legend creature type are errata'd to instead have the Legendary supertype. However, if you have a tapped Kaldra token and need a blocker, you can activate the ability twice (so paying 2 mana total) - the first time, once it resolves, both the tapped Kaldra token and the new one are put into the graveyard as a state-based effect (disappearing after going into the graveyard), and the second time you get a Kaldra token and all the equipment gets stuck on it...et voila! blocker!

Actaully it is a legend. Back in the day "legend" as a subtype meant "legendary". So if it was an Avatar Legend creature then it was legendary.
Even if that is not the case, the current oracle text is
"1: If you control Equipment named Helm of Kaldra, Sword of Kaldra, and Shield of Kaldra, put a legendary 4/4 colorless Avatar creature token named Kaldra onto the battlefield and attach those Equipment to it. Equip 2"
specifying that it was legendary. So yes the rule does apply, no you can not have two in play at the same time.

I see... I learned something new today :D
Therefore, yes to all that KrazyCaley and squire1 said and no to my previous post.

But guys, you act like it's impossible to have 2 Kaldra's out. You could have as many as you have mana! Just make sure you have Mirror Gallery out. ;P

Obviously, with Mirror Gallery out, you may have as many Kaldras out as you have mana. The OP was asking, rather obviously, how that process worked without having Mirror Gallery, since he didn't mention it. Also worth noting, while that 4 card combo is a great way to generate many legendary tokens, they're all but one 4/4s with no special abilities. The greatest thing about them is they're cheap not quite puny colorless creatures.

I'm not sure if I'm answering the question correctly because the question stated is somewhat difficult to understand...(Grammar issues :p) But here's my attempt :D
Here are the 3 cards: Helm of Kaldra , Sword of Kaldra , Shield of Kaldra
Actually the card states: 'Avatar Legend creature token'. It does not state that it is a legendary creature, just that the name of the token is Avatar Legend. So....technically you could just mass produced these guys. You wouldn't have to worry about the whole legendary rule. :D You could make as much as you want to block.
Hope this answers your question.
