What happens if you bounce a token with glimmerpoint stag?

Asked by rckclimber777 13 years ago

I was thinking about it and it says that I exile a target permanent and then return that card to the battlefield under its owner's control at the beginning of the next end step. Since the token has no card associated with it, does it really return the battlefield?

My guess is yes, but figured I'd ask anyway.

Nope. When tokens change zones they cease to exist. So it will never come back.

Sweet thanks. Makes my Venser/glimmerpoint stag combos much more powerful.

It will go to exile, and as a state based effect it will fizzle the next time its checked.

216.3 - A token in a zone other than the in-play zone ceases to exist. This is a state-based effect. (Note that a token changing zones sets off triggered abilities before the token ceases to exist.)
