what happens if you have more than 1 Dark Tutelage out?

Asked by Kalani 14 years ago

Do you draw extra cards, or do they all activate at once giving you only one?

Yes, you would end up drawing 2 cards and losing that much life for each card. It works just like a card:Jace's Erasure. For each you have out the effect is triggered each time.

im not an expert at this but it is my beleif that they would all go on the stack at once and as each effect occurs the other one activates so u would reveal and draw extra cards for each enchantment on the stack.

the same goes for quest for ula's temple u reveal a creature from the top of your library put it back on top then the second one activates and reveal the same creature the same way.

Dark Tutelage 's ability is a triggered ability, so at the beginning of your upkeep, each trigger goes on the stack, and then resolve in opposite order - for however many copies of Dark Tutelage you control, you will: reveal, put into hand, lose life, and then have a chance to play instants or instant-speed abilities before the next one resolves, and assuming the loss of life doesn't kill you you'll end up with an amount of additional cards in hand equal to the number of copies of Dark Tutelage you control.

Incidentally, you do /not/ draw cards as a result of Dark Tutelage , they're put into your hand.

@johnsene&sgteads those cards aren't "drawn". They are put into your hand by a triggered ability. This is nice when your opponent has a Underworld Dreams in play because it doesn't trigger that ability.

Anyway, both abilities trigger and as the active player you get to choose the order they go on the stack (which in this case doesn't really matter). The abilities then resolve in reverse order. You put the first card into your hand, then lose the life equal to the converted mana cost, then put the second card into your hand, then lose life again.
