What happens when a planeswalker's loyalty reaches zero, is it destroyed or sacrificed?

When a planeswalker runs out of loyalty counters is it destroyed or sacrificed???? Much thanks to an official answer.

If a planeswalker's loyalty is 0, it's put into its owner's graveyard as a state-based effect.

This, I assume, is technically neither destroyed or sacrificed.

I think of it like the legendary rule and the planeswalker rule.

Anyway, just my two cents. Maybe I'm wrong

Its kinda like this:

Garruk: Yo dude. Whats up?

You: Nothing much, long time no see

Garruk: Yeah, I know mate! Been a long time

You: Hey, do you mind calling some of your friends to help me beat up this loser?

Garruk: Sure. No probs

Sends out a 3/3 beast

You: Thanks man

Garruk: No sweat! Anything to help

You: Oh no! Pesky 2/2 flier coming right at you!

Garruk: Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! I can't stand any more of this! I'm outta here!!!

You: Wait! I still need your help!!!

so you see, the planeswalkers put their own lives above yours and run away like the cowards they are

I imagine the above exchange being acted out by someone with hand puppets. This has made my night. Thank you. =p

Useful answer: From the comp rules - Rule 704.5, which lists all the state-based actions, says "If a planeswalker has loyalty 0, its put into its owners graveyard." - not "destroyed" or "is sacrificed" or such, just "put in to".

Above it, it says that creatures who get as much or more damage than their toughness are "destroyed," so I think it's safe to say if they meant one or the other they'd have stated it. I think it just happens.
