What to do with Contagion Clasp

Asked by omgyoav 14 years ago

I bought the tez vs. elspeth duel deck and I got a Contagion Clasp . What do you think is the best thing to do with it before it officially releases?

Steel Overseer

I think you should've asked this question in the general forum, lol.

Yeah I was pondering which one was better to put it in. I have 1x of steel overseer but I am not sure that is enough

Anything with counters - quest counters, planeswalkers, +1/+1 stuff.

Creatures with modular (for example: Arcbound Worker ) and Steel Overseer will get you fat artifact creatures in no time.

Otherwise, what sporkife said. Level up guys, planeswalkers, etc.

It feels like one of those situations where you play a bad card with other bad cards in hopes good things happen. I mean with levelers they need mana to get an initial level and then 4 mana to double their counters can be costy. Arcbound worker starts small enough that the time it takes to get it big is not worth it. Maybe it only works with poisen I guess.

Ajani Goldmane and Contagion Clasp work well together. You put a +1/+1 Counter on your creature. Then Contagion Clasp and double it. You also get the counter you used from Ajani Goldmane back.

Meh, proliferate is just that, it needs other counters. Where there were just counters and nothing to pump your things with, now you've got a keyword that will do that, so it makes mediocre stuff more playable, if you design properly.

I think you should keep it... unless you get a really good offer for it.

Otherwise, just use it as roach material (if you smoke!)

Well, what I plan on doing with it is sticking it into an ally deck. Those seem to have been forgotten about but with all those counters, proliferate becomes just awesome.

Contagion Clasp may not be the best proliferate card to use, though. I like Throne of Geth far better.

It seems to me that U/W has gotten the best deal out of proliferate, though. I'd try and work with those colors, were I you.
