When I cast Genesis Wave I reveal X cards, then do I put cards with a total cmc of X into play or do i put all cards with cmc X or less into play?

ok for example, if i paid 6 for x, would i reveal 6 cards and put into play all cards with 6 cmc or less...or cards totalling 6 cmc or less?

You would reveal 6 cards and put any number of them with 6 cmc or less on the battlefield.

The second option, aka. If the card is revealed and is CMC 6 or less, you put it into play. So if you reveal six Alpha Tyrranax , you can putthem all into play.

lol six. and is this the same with Protean Hulk ? all cards cmc 6 or less? or total cmc 6 or less? like a 1 cmc, a 2 cmc and a 3 cmc

Exactly, you MAY put ANY number of permanents WITH a converted mana cost equal to X OR less.

So if you drop it for 8 and you reveal 8 cards and they are all permanents with a cmc of 8 or less (0-8) you may (don't have to) put all of them onto the Battlefield.

I should clarify that if they all have a cmc of 4 and the total cost revealed is 32 (8x4) you still have the option to put them all into play.
