Why is Worldgorger Dragon banned in almost every format?

Sorry if this should have been in general forums.

Question is why was Worldgorger Dragon banned in almost all formats? What makes it so strong?

This does belong in the general forums. Q&As are for questions regarding rules and rulings on cards.

why is it banned/restricted? it's broken. specifically:

Worldgorger Dragon in the yard + either Animate Dead or Dance of the Dead = infinite mana, available turn 2 easily (Entomb ) and turn 1 possibly (Dark Ritual , Black Lotus ). it's too fast, too busted to be balanced.

i understand the crazyness of having that amount of power by turn 2, but could you explain how that would generate infinite mana? i dont get that part

With Animate Dead or Dance of the Dead : Tap mana, play enchantment, Worldgorger Dragon comes into play, exhile everything including enchantment, bury Worldgorger Dragon . Everything comes back into play, tap your mana, enchantment targets Dragon, Dragon comes back, repeat.

thats what i thought but i was wondering how youd get it into the graveyard after you enchant it. can you just outright sacrifice it without a card giving you directive or ability to do so?

Both enchantments say that when they leave play, you bury the creature it's enchanting. When the Dragon comes into play, everything else leaves play, so it's a repeating cycle.

I have decided to leave this in the Q&A section because I feel it is a valid question on the ruling of why Worldgorger Dragon was banned.
