Will Hashaton, Scarab's Fist work with Leyline of the Void or similar cards in play

So recently I started building Hashaton, Scarab's Fist as a commander, and then approached an interesting game, where a Leyline of the Void came into play under my opponents control. My question is will Hashaton's ability still work with Leyline in play?

Yes, it still works. Hashaton triggers on the game action of discarding, and doesn't care about checking to see where the card ended up.

Likewise, you can discard a madness card like Shadowgrange Archfiend and cast it and still create an eternalized copy of it.
