Will Sprouting Phytohydra make a token with Bubble matrix out?
Asked by brianguymtg 14 years ago
Bubble Matrix says damage is reduced to 0, but it doesn't say that the damage is prevented. Would the Sprouting Phytohydra make a token, because the conditions are met, there just happens to be no real effect on it's overall toughness?

ok, just read the oracle text, it does say prevent all damage. Thanks! also, if you wanted to see the deck they were in,

i was just thinking about this card in my sleep, and i came up with an infinite combo with this creature.
1: need an enchantment on board called "aether flash" deals 2 damage to any creature entering the battlefield
2: need dauntless escort to be on board "sac make all creatures you control indestructible"
3: play phytohydra, and copy it infinitely
or red black green:
1: aether flash on board,2: play phytohydra let it die as it comes into play but also allow the trigger of copy to happen up to 1million i suppose3: play bitter ordeal and remove all your opponents librarys from the game.
EDH speaking.
i'm thinking this may work, let me know what you think of this

the answer is no the phytohydra will not produce a token
this is because the phytohydra does not receive damage as long as bubble matrix is on the field (reduce all damage to 0 was the old way to say prevent all damage)
