I play super casual magic. I buy a box of every set that comes out, and I'll buy singles if they're less than $2 per card. That's my personal rule. All the decks I have are made from cards from my collection that I actually own, so if you see something weird (like guildgates instead of kahns lands) it's probably just because I didn't have any of the alternatives on hand.

If any of my decks are marked as modern or otherwise, it's not because they're meant to be competitive in that particular format, it's simply that it happened to contain the cards that made it legal in that format.
