TypicalTimmy Commanders used to not count as "dying" for death triggers because the replacement effect of putting them in the command zone (for something to count as dying it has to go to GY)

#1No, you could not. Tokens would cease to exist as a state based effect and you can not activate the tap before state based effects are checked and happen
