So, I've been playing MtG for almost a year now, and I've loved every second of it.
I first got magic cards when I moved into my apartment at Western Michigan University through the housing department, who was just offering them (for some odd reason). I had never played, but I always wanted to try it. Unfortunately, I never knew that one of my best friends used to play a lot (how I didn't know this is beyond me. He just never brought it up, and I just forgot I had the cards). Until i moved home. My brother found them, and he got hooked. Then last year, at Christmas, I got my very first fat pack. It was a Theros fat pack. Since then, it's all gone downhill. I am addicted to magic and I can't stop playing.
Mostly, I love tweaking my decks, and creating new ones. I know it's not the best idea to buy booster packs, as you generally lose money off of them, but as far as I'm concerned, that's half the fun. Yeah, I'll buy individual cards I know I might need (especially my mana base. I've been building that up recently, and it's beginning to look really impressive. :D) But every now and then, I just like to pick up that one random booster or two, just for the thrill. Nothing beats pulling a card you didn't know you needed from a brand new booster. (For example, Sliver Hivelord. I didn't know I wanted one, until I pulled one out of an M15 booster. I was so happy).
But alas, I'm not the best at building decks, but I've been working on it. Since two of my brothers are also addicted, I just go to them with any questions I have, and they always help me. They've helped me build powerful decks, like my Golgari Dredge (which I am madly in love with), as well as my Dimir mill deck (which is about as good of a mill deck as you could find in standard). I have them both on my profile, so check them out. I recently built a couple new decks. Well, shifted one from mono blue control to Azorious control. Also, I made an Orzhov mid-range deck, because why not?
Magic. For. Life.
