I drafted Ugr and ended up going 1-2 with games going: 0-2, 2-1, and 1-2. I'm not too happy with how I drafted and how the deck turned out. I eventually stumbled into blue and that was very open, but could not ever really get into another color. Open colors seemed to really switch from pack to pack.
I kept a one-lander M1G1 and got punished for it. I had a few two-drops and decided to risk it. The worst part was that I had to discard turn 2 and dumped Stitchwing Skaab. I then proceeded to forget about reanimating it once I eventually got to two mana. Looking back, I think it might have won me the game as an early repeating blocker.
Every game I felt like I didn't have good enough closers. I was able to use fliers and Stitched Manglers to chip away, but they would eventually get outclassed. I was able to keep it close many games, but it seemed that the deck was better at not dying than actually winning.
Looking back I'm not sure how I could have improved the drafting portion, white was fairly open the last pack and I should have maybe tried to move in.
I think having at least one more 3+ power flier or something big like Kessig Dire Swine would have helped a lot.
The one highlight was being able to play Malevolent Whispers and copy it with Geistblast one game to steal and pump two creatures and win out of nowhere.
