Thanks for the suggestion! I did consider it, but ultimately have abandoned this build of the deck since it’s so commander centric. Since building this deck, I’ve iterated on burn in commander a few times and I feel happier with Boros or Orzhov builds of the archetype. Someday I’ll build a mono red deck for commander, but I don’t think it’ll be Imodane.

The spell fails to return from exile as it is not a permanent and therefore cannot enter the battlefield.
From the CRB: "304.4. Instants can’t enter the battlefield. If an instant would enter the battlefield, it remains in its previous zone instead."

#1Unfortunately, I believe the answer is no:
CR 607.2a: If an object has an activated or triggered ability printed on it that instructs a player to exile one or more cards and an ability printed on it that refers either to "the exiled cards" or to cards "exiled with [this object]," these abilities are linked. The second ability refers only to cards in the exile zone that were put there as a result of an instruction to exile them in the first ability.
Since Awaken the Blood Avatar Flip is no longer in exile when Arcane Bombardment triggers, it does not qualify for the linked ability. Bombardment only counts the cards that are still in exile.
