So, whatever I thought I knew about myself, I guess I didnt, so I am updating my profile.

I started way back in the day, during Urza's Block, I never really bought any boosters until around the time 7th edition came out. My first exposure to Magic came in the best way possible, directly through cool friends... who also happened to work at a card shop. I would hang out with them, play D&D and Vampire the Masquerade, then go to the game shop they worked at and was surrounded by actual magic players (local of course). This is when I got my first exposure to the craziness of the power 9, as the shop owner had a set, and explained in great detail why they were important.

So, i played a lot of casual, as that was what everyone else was kinda doing at the time, the players who introduced me were DCI judges (local, again), so they were well versed in standard format, but enjoyed playing everything. Later when I got married, we played a lot with her family, and while that wasnt always fun, I still had an eye for deck building. I enjoyed making off the wall decks that still worked. Some of my decks were in fact banned from our groups, and in some cases, in a 5 way game, I would drop a mountain, and be dead by the time it got back to my turn (which is why we made a rule that no one would attack or do damage to another player before everyone has at least had a turn, its a little demoralizing to be killed before you have a turn 2...).

So, fast forward many years, a divorce, another marriage (to an awesome and wonderful woman). We play magic together, I re-introduced her to magic on my birthday, we sat in a Starbucks on Clearwater Beach for 3 hours playing magic. I had forgotten how much fun magic could be, when you werent trying to play to beat the other player, but playing to enjoy the game itself, and also the companionship. We started with some intro decks and a few booster packs, but it didnt take us long to grow into wanting more things... All the things!

We bought a lot of cards, and it was during this time that I found out about tapped out, and started actually cataloging my decks properly, so that I could tune them, and not have to worry about the math. I'll be honest, I usually played mono colored decks because I just didnt understand mana curve, or land to spells ratio. Man that shit can get complicated, so it was just easier for me to stick with a 60 card format, where I ALWAYS played 20 lands.

We picked up multiple planeswalker decks during this time, and starts when I started branching out properly into dual and multi colored decks, as I started to understand why some of my previous attempts had failed.

I watched a video on The Command Zone (Game Knights) on Commander 2017, they played all 4 decks, and my wife and I studied that video, and eventually picked Draconic Domination and Vampiric Bloodlust, we have since gotten all 4 of the decks, as well as lucking in to a Daretti deck from a walmart mystery cube (that was amazing).

I have discovered things about myself, while I love playing creature based heavy hitting decks, I also seem to enjoy playing quirky tricks decks, Daretti was an eye opening experience, as well the wizard deck from Commander 2017. We have both stopped playing 60 card decks, in favor of commander decks, now 60 card decks look so cute and quaint.
