Description

Updated 27/2/18 for RIX. Next update: Dominaria.

I have this Judge's Tower sleeved in Ivory dragonshield sleeves (because puns). It's proxied, and every time someone loses to a card, I notch a kill mark on the back of the proxy slip with a pen. Some basic lands have multiple kill notches because people forget to tap them ASAP.

Also, using proxies means I can make sure each card has its updated oracle text (because I'm nice) but also not include any reminder text for keywords (because I'm mean).

1. All players have infinite life.

  1. All players have infinite mana of every type.

  2. Players' starting hand sizes are 0.

  3. Each turn, players must play all cards they are able to play at the earliest opportunity, and activate all activated abilities of cards as soon as they are able at least once per turn per legal target. If a card has multiple activated abilities, they must be activated from the bottom up.

  4. Example: if you control 10 power worth of creatures, you must activate Mosswort Bridge's bottom ability before you activate its top ability.

  5. Example: If there are two lands on the battlefield, and you control Mirage Mirror, you must activate it targeting one of them, hold priority, and then activate it targeting the second.

  6. All abilities must be fulfilled to the greatest extent possible. To that end, "may" abilities must be completed if possible. If an ability lets you do something "any number" of times, you must do so at least once (for example, Delve or Replicate abilities).

  7. Example: You must cast Phyrexian Metamorph even if there are no artifacts or creatures on the battlefield. If there is an artifact or a creature, however, the Metamorph must enter the battlefield as a copy of one of them.

  8. Example: Every time your opponent casts a spell, if you control Perplexing Chimera, you must announce the trigger and exchange control of it with that spell if able to.

  9. If X is in a mana cost, X is 5.

  10. Panglacial Wurm is in the tower. You must cast it if it is in the tower and you are searching the tower.

  11. You may play with a shared library/graveyard/exile zone, or you may play with separate zones. If you play with shared libraries/graveyards, and multiple players must move cards from those zones to other zones, they do so in APNAP order.

  12. You cannot intentionally fail to find if a card meeting a specific criteria is in the library (though usually it is in your best interest to find something awful for your opponent to deal with).

  13. A player loses the game when they break one of the above rules, or if they commit another rules infraction (such as activating an ability with no legal targets).

1. Players must keep track of life total changes

  1. Players' starting hand sizes are equal to their judge level.
