Just screwing around with what i think might do well with the new set. Any help appreciated! :)
Note there are cards missing from the list that the site wouldn't let me list. They are:
3x Master of Pearls
4x Wildcall
4x Soul Summons
3x Mastery of the Unseen
4x Lightform
I think the deck is pretty self explanitory. The new Manifest mechanic out with Fate Reforge synergizes very well with Morph, drastically reducing the added goodies of some powerful cards due to Manifest putting their Morph costs on clearance for their mana cost. Its also really good because your opponant will really have to be on their toes because theyll never know what your conjuring up under those hidden weapons which are all very dynamic in any situation. It also utilizes noncreature cards that otherwise cause some eye rolling draws; giving you an army of 2/2s. This is really cool because it practically makes every card a threat one way or another.
The Manifesto
Soul Summons- A great card to get the game going. Potential turn 2 2/2 with Haste? (Not sure about that one) and with the right draw, could be a transformer- clutch at any point in the game.
Wildcall- Another 2 drop that drops a secret goodie on the field. Also adds counters which can get you out of a bind
Mastery of the Unseen- A 2 drop that heals you when you turn cards face up. Great late-game table turner. Also adds another Manifest option although its the worst.
Lightform- 3 drop enchantment that manifests a card and gives it lifelink and flying. A beautiful game changer considering rhis can be played early and flipped creatures retain those effects.
Whisperwood Elemental- 5 drop 4/4 that Manifests on every end-step. Seldon expensive considering other options, but this is sorta solved with mana fixing. Also for the low cost of sacrifice, he gives all nontoken creatures manifest when they die, making for some pretty nasty flip combos. Also turns the table on boardwipes making them useless for opponants while super beneficial for you.
The Autobots
Master of Pearls- this guy used to morph for 5 mana, giving all creatures +2/+2 until end if turn. That's a lot for a temporary pump up no? Well thanks to Manifest, this price is cut to 2, making an overpriced boost a serious clutch play.
Ashcloud Phoenix- A 4 drop burnspell/creature combo that returns to the field face down upon death. I really like this card because of the value it gives. A 4/1 flyer that basically regenerates itself is powerful enough. Add in the fact that its a flipping burnspell and you have a serious gamechanger. Maifest adds a lot more value by cutting Ash's morph cost by 2.
Jeering Instigator- Basically a 2 mana 2/1 that morphs into an Act od Treason for 3... not too shabby. Also adds a fun controlly aspect to the deck. Manifest makes this even better by cutting Instigator's flip ability to 2... Thug Life!
Hooded Hydra- Seen as you would only be manifesting this card, I'm just going to say that you're getting a 5/5 that spawns at least 5 1/1s when it dies. Add in the fact that you can add counters makes this bargin behemoth the Optimus Prime of the group. A true shutdown for almost any opponant.
Burning Up
Magma Jet- Great removal for small creatures and tokens. Add in the scry 2 at instant speed and you have a must play for any deck running red.
Lightning Strike- Another great 2 mana removal which can take care of many potential threats.
The Setup
Scry plays a pretty cool part in this deck as it gives you the ability to manipulate what cards get manifested, which basically gives you the ability to control the tempo of the game which is a really cool twist. You can also set up virtually any combo at your will. You have plenty of options to choose from whether it be lands or magma jet.
Mana Fixing and Ramp
Fetchlands- Give the ability to manage your supplies for any situation.
Trail of Mystery- A really dynamic card that synergizes well with the deck. Its a really good turn 2 card that can ramp you up quick and early which is very good for things like Whisperwood, X costs and situational plays. Then to boot, it gives flipped creatures a +2/+2 powerup that is sure to turn the table in your favour many times.
I'm really excited about the new Manifest mechanic and I love how well it beast-modes Morph. I can't wait to gather the cards and try them out! Any tips and constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated (currently stuck mustering up a sideboard D:)
